Introduction

The Western Reserve RailRoad Asociation is a organization whose primary mission is to preserve and
restore the Lake Shore and Michign Southern Rail Road Station, located at 475 Railroad Str. in
Painesville, Ohio
On December 31, 1997, the Painesville Depot was presented to the Western Reserve RailRoad
Association as a gift from a Painesville business entrepreneur. In the summer of 1998 the association
received it's offical tax exempt status and is currently a 501(c)3 organization.
History

This station was built in 1892-1893 by the Lake Shore and Michigan
Southern Rail Road Company, the design is of Richardsonian
Romanesque style and came from the firm of Shepley, Rutan and
Coolidge of Boston.
When the station was built it was considered the jewel of
Painesville. During it's life time, it has seen the Spainish America
War, World War I, World War II and the Korean War and Viet Nam
conflit.

We are in need of your help, the station is in
need of volunteers in many different areas
of
work: Roof repair, electrical, toilets installed,
water, lawn care, building materials, people
power, membership, pictures inside and out
and a set of torches to cut off top of the
caboose.
